You can drive the campervans or rental car on all roads public roads in New Zealand,
except for three descriped below. There are signs at the starting points of these roads advising the danger.
90 mile beach – this is at the very top of the North Island.
Skippers Canyon – This is in the South Island of NZ, near Queenstown.
Mt Cook Road – this road up the side of Mount Cook.
You can however drive the rental car or campervans as far as the visitors centre.
